Two days before Reese Witherspoon announced her split from husband Jim Toth, her daughter Ava Phillippe shared a few glowing words in honor of the Oscar winner's 47th birthday.
"HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to this legendary lady I'm lucky enough to call my mama!" the 23-year-old wrote on Instagram March 22. "She is truly a force of nature. While I am endlessly inspired by her and so proud of all she's accomplished, what I admire most is the way she moves through the world as a curious, considerate, gracious, and loving person."
Ava—who along with brother Deacon, 19, are Reese's kids with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe—added that she finds "even more reasons" to love her mom year after year.
"I am thrilled to celebrate another year of her bright light in my life!" she continued. "Love you always @reesewitherspoon."
Reese shared the love right back, commenting on the post, "How did I get so lucky to have a daughter like you ??"
The sweet birthday message came amid a period of personal changes in Reese's life, as she confirmed on March 24 that she and Jim were separating just two days before their 12th wedding anniversary.
"We have some personal news to share... It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce," the former couple wrote in a statement on Instagram. "We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness and mutual respect for everything we have created together."
